Further information

Utopia Community Care can help people under 65 years of age (and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people under 50 years of age) with services provided in the community and in your home.

The Home and Community Care (HACC) Program provides funding for services supporting frail older people aged 65 years and over (and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people aged 50 years and over) and their carers. Services are provided for older people living in the community and who are at risk of premature or inappropriate admission to long term residential care.

Support group for grandparents

A support group meeting in Logan, south of Brisbane, provides support especially for grandparents raising their grandchildren (up to 18 years) full-time.

Logan MyTime for Grandparents is held every second week during the school term, from 11am to 1pm, at Logan Central Community Centre, 9 Jacaranda Avenue, Logan Central.

MyTime offers a chance for grandparents to socialise, share ideas and discuss issues affecting them. Attend with or without your grandchild.

Please contact Anne Gooley, from Playgroup Utopia, who coordinates the program on (07) 3855 9600 for further details.

MyTime for Grandparents is offered in numerous locations across Utopia. To find the nearest group visit the MyTime website.
